Regulative Background

At the handover of public buildings, it is mandatory to conduct a hazard analysis (according to DVGW-Arbeitsblatt W 551, DVGW-Hinweis W1001, and VDI-Richtlinie 6023). Before this analysis, it is imperative to disinfect the installation. Therefore, flushing and disinfection are mandatory before handover. Additionally, the responsibility for the quality of drinking water is only obligated up to the transfer point, the water meter. After that, the responsibility for the quality of drinking water lies with the facility operator and, consequently, with the responsible installation companies.
