Hygiene problems in the drinking water installation?

We can help you

If water in pipes stands still for long periods, it forms an ideal breeding ground for dangerous pathogens. At lukewarm temperatures of 20 to 50 °C, legionella in particular become a problem, while bacteria of the genus Pseudonomas in particular multiply in cold water.

To ensure that drinking water does not pose a health risk when installations are put back into operation (e.g. after the vacations), operators and building managers are obliged to flush their drinking water pipes regularly until the water has been completely replaced. In particularly hygienically sensitive properties such as kindergartens, schools or gyms, it is also advisable to have the water tested for contamination and, if necessary, to have the systems disinfected.

Disinfection of building installations

in short

Disinfection Measure

Simple and fast

As the disinfection of drinking water pipes is very complex due to the many individual components, it must be carried out by a qualified cleaning service provider for drinking water systems. BEULCO Service is the right partner for this and offers a full service for the removal of contamination in drinking water installations. We disinfect your systems and building installations reliably and quickly, thereby ensuring drinking water hygiene and safety in your buildings. In an acute emergency, we are directly on site.

If an infestation with legionella or other pathogens has been detected, we will come directly to you and disinfect the entire water system in the building. By analyzing the redox value, we can measure the extent of the bacterial contamination in real time. This allows us to ensure that the disinfection was successful and that the contamination has been eliminated.

Drinking water dispensers for public areas

The German government has passed a draft law which stipulates that in future the public water supply, as a task of general interest, will also include the provision of tap water through drinking water fountains in public places.

Our Service

For public institutions

Contamination in drinking water installations has been increasing throughout Germany in recent years. The problem threatens to worsen due to the increasing age of pipes and the more frequent periods of heat in summer. For example, during the vacations, when public buildings such as schools and gyms are hardly used or not used at all. The stagnant tap water provides a more than favorable breeding ground for legionella and other germs.

To ensure that drinking water does not pose a health risk once it is back in use, operators and building managers are obliged to flush their drinking water pipes regularly until the water has been completely replaced. In particularly hygienically sensitive properties such as kindergartens, schools or gyms, it is also advisable to have the water tested for contamination and, if necessary, to have the systems disinfected.

We have a corresponding full-service offer for public bodies and internal managers (building management, facility management, maintenance, etc.) and are at your side as a contact, expert and partner in the event of damage or contamination.

For health authorities

Drinking water is an indispensable food for which the highest standards of hygiene apply. Legislators and consumers rightly place high demands on the quality of water.

In order to guarantee high drinking water quality in the long term, commercially operated water extraction and supply systems as well as buildings with a storage and output volume of more than 400 liters (e.g. apartment buildings) are subject to regular inspections by health authorities and accredited laboratories.

A test for legionella must initially be carried out once a year, with the initial test being carried out within three to twelve months of commissioning. If proof of compliance with the generally recognized rules of technology (a.a.R.d.T) is provided and the findings have been without objections for at least three consecutive years, the testing intervals can be extended to up to three years.

With our know-how, we are also happy to assist those responsible from health authorities, provide advice and take over the measures following findings of contamination in the water networks in your area of responsibility.

For plumbers

The order situation is extreme, while at the same time the shortage of skilled workers is making itself felt in the trade. Plumbers' order books are often fully booked for months on end. This does not leave much time for measures such as the cleaning and disinfection of drinking water installations, especially as these usually occur at short notice and are time-critical.

In most cases, thermal flushing of the pipes with hot water is still used. However, this has some significant disadvantages. Firstly, this type of disinfection only works effectively at 70 °C. These temperatures cannot be reached at all points in the pipe system, which means that the germs are only partially killed. As a result, they can develop resistance and become increasingly stubborn. On the other hand, some taps are not designed for hot water and can be damaged by the heat.

With BEULCO Service at your side, such problems are a thing of the past.

Our service for installers includes

  • taking over disinfection when resources are scarce,
  • training your staff to carry out the measures using our mobile disinfection box

We are also constantly looking for partner installation companies to carry out disinfection measures on our behalf. We currently have a total of 6 companies throughout Germany in our partner network. Come on board and benefit from individual special conditions.

For private persons

While contamination in drinking water installations has only occurred sporadically throughout Germany in recent years, the problem is threatening to become more acute due to the increasing age of pipes and rising temperatures. Old pipes and stagnant water provide a more than favorable breeding ground for legionella and other germs.

To ensure that drinking water does not pose a health risk once it is put back into operation, operators and building managers are obliged to flush their drinking water pipes regularly until the water has been completely replaced.
